Edith May Thames Barge identity, website and marketing
The Edith May is an 86ft medium sized coasting Thames sailing barge. She is spritsail rigged and constructed of Pitch Pine on Oak. Originally built in 1906 for coastal trade carrying wheat and grain products, she also had a successful racing career before falling into sad disrepair during the 1990’s.
Purchased by her current owner in 1999, an extensive programme of restoration has been undertaken and completed. Now sailing once again, the Edith May Trading Company has been formed and offers you the chance to share in the experience of this fine vessel, either cruising her home waters of the River Medway, enjoying the on board winter tea room, or as private function room for up to 60 guests.
Brief:
The Edith May Trading Company needed to promote their refurbished Thames Barge for charter. This included the branding and website to enable to increase awareness for this new attraction. It was down to Zoo Design in discussion with the Trading Company to come up with the right identity initially that would reflect the history of the barge with out looking to old fashioned.
